What books are you reading?

I’m currently reading two by Henri Nouwen (Spiritual Direction: Wisdom for the Long Walk of Faith and The Dance of Life: Weaving Sorrows And Blessings into One Joyful Step) and two by Alexandra Stoddard (Choosing Happiness: Keys to a Joyful Life and You Are Your Choices: 50 Ways to Live the Good Life.) Eventually I’ll put up reviews at my blog. They all need to be savored. A friend told me about You are Your Choices. I read about Spiritual Direction and when I went to order it, I saw The Dance of Life and felt I’d like to read that too.

I’d love to be in a book club with Spiritual Direction. It would be interesting to talk about the chapters, perhaps on my blog at some point. So far, I’m really enjoying it, but it must be read slowly and really thought about. They recommend reading it quickly, then slowly. You can read it in order or jump around. I’m jumping and reading relatively quickly, but slowly, if that makes sense. You can’t skim it. If I had the time now, I’d be underlining, but I’ll save that for the second reading.

Anybody interested in discussing Spiritual Direction here online?
