in Just thinking

I wanted to say something about what happened at Virginia Tech at my blog, but words fail me.

There is a solidarity in grief that we all feel -- too many tragedies to comprehend in a lifetime.

There are questions we cannot answer in this life.

My heart is with the families who have lost loved ones and with those whose lives are scarred by this event. May you feel the waves of compassion coming from all segments of the country and the world. May this comfort you on some level. May there be people in your lives who say the right words and that you feel are in your corner.

Even in tragedies, there are heroes. Hearing of an Israeli teacher who saved students but lost his life himself is evidence of a deep vein of good in the world. May we not lose touch with it.
