The power of music

I’ve spent the better part of my free moments today ripping more music into the format for my MP3, then deciding what to actually put into it.  It is really easy to subtract and add and so lovely that it is all my favorites…

The other day while playing music and getting dinner ready and served, my 11 yo said something to the effect that it was very soothing and took out the stress.  I agreed with her. There’s something about adding the harmony that music brings or the rhythms that get us moving.  We dance a lot. I’m trying to teach them to find the beat.

I’m listening to the album Jazz Moods: Latin Romance at the moment, still riding on the late night from last night…I’m not ready to go to sleep..I love all the songs, but especially Como Rien which has to be one of the loveliest songs ever written or sung.  I would love to have a translation since I don’t speak Spanish.  You can listen to a bit of the song at this same link.  I have another link that will allow you to listen to the whole song, but I can’t find it at the moment.

I intend to listen to the music shuffle until I fall asleep.
