I've seen a couple of houses like that, and I would love to have that! OTOH, I want to read in every room of my house, not just one, though finding a quiet place is sometimes near impossible -- I have to keep moving through the house.

Our library here has excellent on-going book sales of surplus books donated to the library. 50 cents for a paperback; $1-2 for a hardback. I'm tempted to collect a couple of favorite authors because it is possible, but pretty soon I'd have to sleep on the ceiling. I think I'm going to go today and buy at least one! So much for that!

I'd love to have a library room too.... There is the amazing house I pass by a few times a week on my way to one of the university buildings. I always look inside the grand windows.. it is a medium sized library room, every wall is covered in books and because it has very high ceilings, there is a balcony wrapping around the room inside, and up there, every wall is once again covered in books. The room is otherwise spartanly (but no less impressively furnished): A grand table on the parquet floor. A lovely chandelier. That's all. I wish it was mine!

Oh no, I understand that! I'm fighting my nature, but all my bookshelves are full, baskets are full, tables are full. I'd need a room just for my library (which I would truly love!)

Sometimes I like to look at the book from the library, then buy it, sometimes before I've even finished it, especially if it is a book that I would like to underline on the first read.

Hey Karin

I am afraid I must have some sort of collector's or packrat's gene... I prefer to buy books even though space is a problem at my place too! But I love having the books I love and displaying them.
