Some thoughts on making decisions

When you cannot make up your mind which of two evenly balanced courses of action you should take - choose the bolder. W.J. Slim

Do not be too timid and squeamish about your actions. All life is an experiment. Ralph Waldo Emerson

Sometimes I think we are too hesitant in life. Nothing is written in stone. I've heard it said that the only thing permanent is change. We can always choose another path. Sometimes making one choice allows us to see another.

That said, it's best not to be too precipitous either -- though too much thinking or weighing back and forth can lead to doing nothing. That's OK too until we get a clear sense of what to do.

But moving through fear(s)to get to the other side is a good thing. How to do that is the question.

We don't make decisions in a vacuum. Each leads to another. It isn't the first time we've moved through fears, and it won't be the last.

I wish I would more often choose the bolder course.
