Some perfume stats

According to an article by Samantha Critchell:

The heaviest users of perfume are 18-24 year old females, according to the market researchers at NPG Group, but fewer than 60% have bought a new bottle during the past year. Instead, they often get gifts…

64% of women in the 45-54 year old group bough perfume products, followed closely by women 25-34 (63%) and 35-44 (62%).

It is often the bottle that encourages a woman to switch from one fragrance to another.

Well, I’ve been known to buy a bottle for the bottle unless I dislike the juice immensely.

Many of us have fragrance wardrobes. I couldn’t imagine wearing only one fragrance any more. OTOH, that is because I forced myself to use up bottles in the past, which I now wish I still owned. Many scent formulas have been changed, and to me, the newer versions are not always the best. Vintage has a deeper feel.

I’ve never had a bottle go bad on me. I keep them out of sunlight and out of heat. So if I still owned the ones I’ve used up, I would be enjoying them now vs. feeling that I had to finish them in order to get another.

As I said to my daughter, if a person bought 2 bottles of fragrance a year and never used them up, then in 10 years, s/he would have 20 bottles.

I choose a fragrance based on my mood, either to enhance it or to change it, or the weather…or…and it is nice to have a selection. And sometimes, when I can’t make up my mind, nothing calls to me, I go scentless except for whatever lotion I’ve used.

And I haven’t used a bottle up in years. Before I found ebay I purchased one to have ready because I was getting low, but now it is possible to find most anything if you aren’t in a hurry.
