Review: Trouble in Paradise by Lynn Byer

Trouble in Paradise has a lot of good things going for it: the action takes place, for the most part, on a cruise. I haven't read many cruise-oriented books. Along with romance, there is a serious sub-plot, determining if someone is committing insurance fraud.

The book is self-published by the author, I believe, and is available as both a paperback and an ebook. Not to worry about self-publishing, because it is well written!

I wrote at Amazon:

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, savoring it because I didn't want it to end. The characters were believable, though the action was fast, taking place over the course of a week's cruise. The author brings a cruise to life.

I was afraid some things might happen, but they did not.

The ending was satisfactory -- ending at a different point than I expected and ending in a different way than I anticipated. The author kept my interest to the end with characters that are well rounded and multiple story lines that are woven together.

I liked the loving relationship between the sisters.

I'd like to read a book about Alicia and her beau. That would be interesting!

I look forward to her next book.

This author is one to watch for, as her first book (this one) is very well done and a pleasure to read.

Disclosure: I was given a [Kindle] copy as a gift. It is my choice to review it.

It's rare for me to read a book that captivates my interest on so many levels. And sometimes books with a serious nature fall into the trap of being didactic. Fortunately, this one does not. Facts are shared in a natural manner, without crossing the line into preaching.

Have you read this book?
Let me know if you do! I'm looking forward to her next book. I hope she has a prolific imagination!

Very cool! I haven’t read any romances on cruises either. :)
