Update: I added Golden Luster and Rhea to the swatches.

NYX had a really great sale on these, so I took the package 30 lippies, out of 60, regularly $120 for $24. How could I go wrong? For the price, basically, of one Chanel lippie, I could have 30!!! And try out a formula of NYX lips that I had not tried before.

What was I thinking, LOL! I am slowly working my way through them. I don’t know how they decided to choose colors for this package. It is approximately half of the colors they have in this formula. I figure they chose from light to dark, including some reds, some bares, some browns, some warm and blue pinks. I figure it’s a pretty good mix. I’m finding some of the ones I left until later to try because they didn’t look like me in the tube are actually very pretty on.

Here’s what NYX says:

Professional lipsticks that cover your lips with dazzling colors while smoothing and moisturizing your lips.

These are regularly $4 a tube, but the feel, the look, and the moisture level are that of a much more expensive lippie. They are unscented and have no taste. Or, they have a very slight rose taste.

Checking swatches at the site, the pictures are not necessarily what the lippies are. So far, I’ve really enjoyed the lippies, but it would be hard to choose based on photos.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:
Light Pinks
Bare
This one surprised me. It’s a chameleon. It looks like white/brown in the tube, but on, it picks up a pale orchid — even when swatched on my hand. Now that I know it pulls pink, I will wear it more. It’s a lovely shade.

Love Angel One of my faves in this collection.
This is a very pretty, soft pink. Much prettier on than I expected. Like Glory, I would not have bought it, if it were not in the package, but I’m really happy to have it!

Glory This one has a slight, almost rosy taste. It leaves quickly.
This is a beautiful, light shade a la the 60’s but prettier as it isn’t really frosted. It’s like embedded micro shimmers in a lippie not a gloss. This is not one I would have chosen, as I would have felt it was too light, but I’m enjoying wearing it as part of the haul in the package special from NYX.

I will continue to update this as I try the colors. Some colors, of course, are not in my color range, but they will make nice gifts.

Light orchids
America
This is a soft orchid sort of shade

BL33 rimmed with NYX Nude Jumbo Lip Pencil
This leans to brown.

Spoiled
This is a funny color. Strikingly light. Sort of orchidy. I’m surprised it showed lines in my lips. It felt great, just a different color than I usually wear. Book Girl said: I love that color on you. (This was in comparison to the Goth-like color from Fyrinnae.) But the full face photo looked odd, to me, at least in the light I was in.

Warm or apricot pinks
Indian Pinkrimmed with Beauté If, which was also used to highlight the middle of my lips.
This color doesn’t look pink in the tube, but it looks pink on my lips. It’s quite a pretty warm pink. Once again a color I would not have chosen, but I like just the same.

Bravo
This is a pretty, soft warm brown-pink. It is prettier on than I thought from the tube. It doesn’t have any shimmer, but it has a lovely sheen or glow to it. I wouldn’t call it matte, but it isn’t frosty either.

B52 I’m also going to show this with the browns.

Bright pinks
Glamour
This is a little bluer than it photographed. A lovely color. Several hours later my lips are still moist with a stain of color, not much product feel.

Chloe 17 This is a gorgeous color, vibrant, with shimmer. Glorious!

Browns, Nudes and Neutrals
Golden LusterRimmed and up the center with Beauté Paramour
This lippie is very gold/brown. I put it on only one lip, then smooshed it, so it wouldn’t be so intense a gold. My lips still had some pigment from the lippie I wore yesterday.

Iced Latte

NYX Rhea straight from the tube
As you can see, it is very brown, too brown for me. But I love the formula and I’m still trying to work my way through the 30 lippies I got, some of which were decidedly brown, for such a good price.

I wanted to make it a little pinker and bring it into the color of my shirt, if possible. I love the formula of MAC lip conditioner too, and I only have it in one color.

Rhea + MAC Popster lip conditioner over the whole lip top and bottom, rimmed and a touch on the bottom middle lip with Beauté Allure
Popster softened the color immediately. I couldn’t see how pretty it was until I photographed it — and it had melded together for a few minutes. I could still spot the brown of Rhea, but not now.

Ares
This is a true, pale brown bare lip, half in sunlight, half not, sorry about that!

Iced Lavender
This is like a deep brown/grey with lavender. Pretty color, esp for fall or for deeper skin tones.

B52 Also shown with warm pinks. This was darker than I expected from the tube.

Champagne

Aphrodite
This is a pretty color, softer than Konacoffee, for example, but also a good color for darker skins. It has a pretty shimmer to it. I didn’t do any lip prep, just put it on. At least you get a feel for the color!

Konacoffee
This is a rich, shimmery brown with some red in it. I think it is actually wearable for me, but in the fall. Meantime, I tried it on my 13 yo Chinese daughter. Applied lightly, it is almost a nude shade on her, and it looks great!

Warm, Autumn Red
Cocoa Hard to know whether to place this with reds or browns.
It felt and looked this quite brown on me, but would be a lovely shade for fall. There was enough red in it to keep it from being totally brown. My 11 yo spontaneously said: I love that lipstick on you.

Straight out of the tube. This is a bright, lovely warm red. The longer it was on, the bluer it became.

Snow White
What an appropriate name for this color! My 20-something daughter stopped mid sentence and said: oh, I love that color on you. OTOH, I felt it was too much, applied straight up.

Snow White12 hours later, after sleeping, with just balm over what was left.
This shows how long lasting the colors are. I didn’t do any clean up around my lips, just put on balm.

Blue Reds
Hebe
This is a glorious red. It didn’t drift into any lip lines at all.

Black Reds
Rapture A very pretty, almost black red, more blue than not.

What I think
I rate these 5 for feel, color, taste, look… 3 for odd shaped cut out for lippie, but it works fine.
