Review Clairol Natural Instincts Hair Color Navaho Bronze

in Hair, Review

I first heard about this hair coloring at another list that I'm on. People were raving about it. So when Book Girl, who was then in college, wanted to color her hair -- she already has some white in it courtesy of my father who was pure white by age 27 or so -- I thought of this.

We've used it on her hair for several years now. Initially it took care of the brassiness from a bad salon coloring when we hoped to get the lovely blond-brown shade from her early childhood.

While this coloring is said to wash out, and it likely does, the brassiness never showed up as her hair grew out. In that sense, the coloring over this hair was permanent.

We have used many different colors from the line, and we've liked them all. Sometimes she will color her hair every 8 weeks or so, and sometimes we go for months as we did this time.

I will continue to update colors when we color her hair again.

What we think
It covers well and lasts well. It does slightly change the color of your colored hair as it grows out. There is a line of delineation, but it isn't bad.

It smells great and is gentle on the hair. It leaves it feeling silky. The included conditioner is excellent.

We give it a 5 for performance.

We have never used another color product on her, so we can't say how it would compare. We will always choose one of these colors so long as it is available.

Do you use this? or do you use another product?
What color(s) do you use?
