When I first read about Beauté Luminous Volume Glosses, I went to the website, got caught up in all the colors, and watched all the videos.
I loved the lip technique, as anyone who's been reading my blog will know.
I loved what the formula is supposed to do, and I confirmed that it doesn't sting your lips, because I had hurt my lips in years past using a stinging formula.
The colors all looked lush -- what colors did I want to try?
That was a hard choice. I knew I wanted more than one and that I wanted high shimmer for the most part. I also knew I could combine any of the non-shimmer colors with a shimmer of theirs to get a shimmer.
I finally decided to choose across the line to get different depths of hues, as well as colors that might work together to make other new shades, to get more color choices out of it.
Additionally, I was given a lovely color of gloss and a perfect shade of lip stain to try.
After seeing and using the colors in RL
I can totally understand why someone would want to have a complete set.
Here are the benefits that Beauté lists for their glosses
* Moisturizes and hydrates
* Plumps and shapes
* Smoothes fine lines and wrinkles
* Protects
* Defines surface area
And even better:
The effects work even when using lip color or pencil.
Luminous Volume Gloss can be applied under or over lip color and/or pencil.
To date, I have only used it alone. I will try it in these other ways on other days. Pictures to follow when I do.
How do they work?
Beau Nelson tells us in the video that Beauté glosses already have three different volumizers in the formula:
...dehydrating Marine Filling Spheres which act like tiny sponges that go inside the lip, then expand with the body's own natural water -- that gives you instant plumping; maxi-lip is a tripeptide that stimulates collagen cell renewal -- after 29 days you get semi-permanent volume that is a long term benefit; then we have orchid extract that regulates the natural moisturizing factor of the lips.
How about for men?
I think a clear gloss, if the formula would work the same, would be a wonderful addition for men. And I'm betting that some of the more neutral shades would be workable too. Likely it would have to be packaged in a tube vs. a wand -- you think?
Using the technique that Nelson shows in the video, which I wrote about earlier:
Allure on rim; Paramour (dusty rose with gold micro shimmer)filling in the inside
This is a beautiful shimmery color, very high shimmer.

What did it do on me after a bit?
I noticed a difference in my lips almost immediately. First, my lips felt moisturized. Second, they felt cushioned, almost like a pillow. I don't know if you can see it clearly, but the sensation was one of fuller lips. There is a sensation, but it does not sting.
How about "after 29 days, you get semi-permanent benefits"?
I haven't used it for 29 days yet to be able to tell, but I have applied it at least once each day for two days. Already my lips feel fuller the rest of the day. I have no idea what the effect would be after 29 days if you ceased using their product. Likely, I'm guessing, your lips would be as they were originally.
Later in the day I combined Urge and Heroine, which was lovely. I will do it again and take some pictures.
I chose this set:
Seductress with If, Urge & Paramour. Additionally, I have Allure gloss and Harlot lip stain.
What about packaging?
The wand is elegant. My set was packaged in a handsome box, tied with a voile ribbon. Certainly suitable to give as a gift.
More colors:
Urge (a red) rimmed with Paramour (and in the center)
This is a gorgeous color. This is what I had hoped the MAC would look like yesterday, but it was too pink.
Heroine rimmed with Allure, using Allure up the middle also.
This is an absolutely perfect shade of neutral mauve. I felt it was me only better. I loved it!
Heroine/Paramour rimmed with Allure
Heroine on one lip; Paramour on the other; smoosh lips together; rim with Allure
I thought this was a gorgeous color!
My take:
I like these glosses very much. I can't wait to wear the other colors I have, so I can share them with you.
You won't know if this formula works for you without trying it. Pick your favorite color to try. Once you know how you like it, you can buy several shades. Or go for broke, and pick several colors. If you are lucky enough to live close to one of the stores that carry Beauté, share your faves!
Do you have any of these glosses?
What is your favorite color? How do you feel about them?

5 for color
5 for moisture and effects
I want to see it over the course of several days.
