Continuing working through my samples. This is a men's scent. And while I do wear some men's fragrances, I'm not comfortable with this one. And I might not like it on anyone I know, either.
Askew by Humiecki & Graef is available at Lucky Scent $220 for 100 ml or or $4 for .7 ml.
Notes: birch tar, cardamom, soft leather, ginger, grapefruit, vetiver, Egyptian mimosa
medicinal...electric...volatile...angular. Lucky Scent
I've gotta be honest, this is not my fave. It might be OK on a man, but I'd have to wait for the drydown to really like it.
It's sharp and a bit bitter. It never completely softens, but stays strangely odd. I am even tempted to say, Yuck. Sorry about that if you wear it.
What do you say?
Do you own it? Does your guy wear it? Can you wear it, if you are female?
If you love it, what does it do on you? or better yet, what statement are you making to those around you?
If I wore it, it would be saying, Keep your distance. Beware! You do not want to cross me.
Can you tell I really don't care for it? And coming from a perfume lover, that says something. Or not.
Christophe Laudamiel is the perfumer, and I don't know if I've ever smelled anything else he has done to make a comparison.
