in Age, Arbonne, Just thinking

Arbonne Update
I've been running around the past two days with no makeup, which is very unusual for me. Therefore no fotds, unless I decide to take a picture later to see if you can observe a difference.

My skin feels and looks great. I don't need that added step of foundation, etc. in order for the moisturizers to do their work. I feel hydrated all day, and wake up hydrated after using either the night cream or the peel. I probably use the peel 1-2 X a week.

To call it a peel is almost a misnomer. When I hear 'peel' I think of one of those 35% solution peels that are left on for a few minutes at a dermatologist's. Or a clear mask that dries and you peel it off.

This peel is very gentle and only feels like night cream. it doesn't sting. And in the morning, I don't notice that the surface of my skin rolls (peels.)

Seeing a difference
Isn't that what it's all about? Isn't that the name of the game?

Even if seeing a difference is only in the appearance of cosmetics, not seeing a difference in one's skin, who would bother to apply anything if there wasn't some difference between with or without it?

When I was out running errands on Friday (with makeup on) Linda at the bank remarked about how good my skin looked and that she could see a difference. (I asked her if I could quote her -- absolutely!)

She has been using the sample pack that Book Girl gave to her, and she also likes it and sees a difference in her skin.

A friend of mine says she has read about Arbonne, but never used it until Book Girl sent her a sample. She has bought the system and loves it.

Hair
I like Arbonne's hair system. I have tried 3 shampoos, I think, one of which is the baby shampoo.

I like the hair mask really well. When I pictured this, I pictured it being brown as another hair mask was that I used. Thankfully, it is not. It is white. And very moisturizing.

Eyes
The above friend was talking about eyes. She is hoping for Arbonne results.

Then we talked about the eye surgeries done to remove drooping.

She said, You're eyes are so unusual.

I said, unusual good or unusual bad? (I used to think unusual strange when I was very young.)

Unusual good.

So there you have it.

I've thought about eye surgery at some point in time, but then again, what if I didn't like it. What if I had to then live with it, LOL. What if I wasn't unusual any more.

Seriously. It's kinda funny.

Realistic expectations
I wish I knew what these were, LOL!

What are realistic expectations? if you are in your 20's, 30's, 40's, 50's and beyond.

And how do we weed out realistic expectations from those in a recent magazine with mega surgeries for everything from eyes to lipo and in between -- and then the photoshopped images we are bombarded with and made to believe (or do believe) are true to life, when they are so changed it hardly resembles the person in RL.

What could we reasonably expect if we were 90?

What could we reasonably expect when we look in the mirror? (I have a friend who says she never sees herself in mirror, not even when she brushes her teeth.) That's not possible for me.

It's hard to even imagine 90 at this point, but I wanna be ready. To look and feel my best, actively pursuing life.

While I can't imagine 90, I can imagine the difference with or without using any products, and the image in my mind without is not a pretty picture.

OTOH, there might be something to be said for being an eccentric. What you see is what you get.

It's how I live now. With a little help.

More later.

Well I have lots of thoughts on this topic! lol. realistic means you know that changes occur with time, but that you can take care of yourself and look your best for your age rather than just forgetting about it. Unrealistic is going apesh*t having surgery so that you just end up looking like an alien instead of a human being. I don’t care about cosmetic surgery. I have a hysterectomy scar, which of course changed the shape of my stomach, and little lines are starting on my face…but I take care of my skin, I exercise, I eat nutritious food. I won’t starve in order to achieve a skinny ideal. I will just do the best I can with what I have and be happy…that’s realistic to me.

I think this is very realistic. I agree that some who do cosmetic surgery do not look good afterward — and yet some do. I don’t know that there is any way to know which is which until it might be too late to undo the procedure. And with my kind of luck, I’m not sure if it would be the wisest choice for me.

And when I see the prices, it’s hard to imagine I’d have that much disposable income (pun intended, LOL.) I’d rather live my life and take trips.
