Perhaps you remember my story of meeting the young woman shopping at a MAC counter. She looked fab. I loved her lipstick, which she was excited to share. She said it was the only thing she ever wore.
MAC Sweetie, topped with Pinkarat gloss. Of course, when I bought and used it, it didn't look the same on me. It was way pinker. On her, it had a plummy, brown cast, which could have come from her natural lip color. My lips have a little more red in them, especially if I've been wearing red lippies.
Today, I hit the jackpot. I think I finally came up with the exact shade it was -- or at least the exact shade as I'd like it to be for me. And instead of trying out several different colors (I still have some NYX's to try) I just reapplied this. I love it.
Lower lip: Sweetie; Upper Lip: Lovechild gloss (which I'd bought when I had a makeover, then it never looked as dramatic at home as in the store -- but she had applied it with a trowel vs. the more natural way I do it) ;smooshed together; rimmed with Pinkarat gloss.
Here are other ways I've worn it:
With Clinique Plummy lip pencil
It's getting closer to what she wore. It's more rose and plummy here.
Same color, different angle. It looks glossy here!
Here are the other combos on other days:
Mary Kay Metallic lip liner MAC Sweetie, topped with Pinkarat gloss, rimmed with a lighter gloss and used up the center too. This is a true brown liner.
I think it is pretty, but now it is almost a red look and definitely deeper colored than hers was.
Compare it to the day I wore it with no lip liner:
MAC Sweetie, topped with Pinkarat gloss, topped in the middle with Beauté IF to make it a little less pink, rimmed with NYX Chandelier.
You can see how it changes with lip pencils. Which one do you like the best?

Later in the day today I updated to straight MAC Plum Dandy with Lovechild lipglass -- 1/2 and 1/2 -- I still can't get it to be as dramatic as it was in the makeover. PD is a rich, interesting shimmery metallic plum.
Do you have any of these?

I really like it with the clinique pencil.
Yes, that was really nice too. It’s hard to get the nuances with my camera. For the most part, all the other times except for yesterday had an odd sort of pink shade to them. You and I can wear the same lippie colors. You’d probably know what I mean, if you saw me in RL. Yesterday’s shade was a just-perfect neutral with enough pink in it not to be brown.
