La Prairie cosmetics and color story

La Prairie has many fine products. In many ways they are state of the art. They are also expensive. I use them frugally, if that makes sense. I use them where I need them, not my whole face, and I use them when I need a boost, a pick-me-up.

I’m not convinced you need their cleansers or toners. Perhaps for certain skin problems. I do think their creams and lotions are exceptional.

Occasionally they have travel sets for a reasonable price that allow you to try many of the products in smaller sizes. Plus at the counters the SAs have pillow sample sizes of many of them.

They have a full line of body products, including hand lotion. I have only used samples from the travel kit.

I find no matter how long it takes me to use up a product, they stay fresh.

To use a pillow sample from any company, you can cut the corner, or you can pierce the foil with a straight pin so the product feeds out the pin hole. The latter way makes it easier to travel with it. Be careful to pierce through only one side of it.

A makeover at one of the counters will also allow you to see how the products feel on your skin.

La Prairie is dedicated to the process of graceful aging. Our aim is to help you slow down the signs of age…and keep your skin as young as possible… as long as possible. Everything we do, every product we make reflects our unparalleled commitment to excellence, luxury, and the science of skincare. La Prairie

This is a magic product:
And like most things, it keeps going up in price. But if you want to look good, use it for a few days — or even one day.

Here are some products I like:

I’ve never tried these, but I bet they are superb!

This is one of their newer products:

This is an excellent foundation:

Illusion Product
I find this a little thick. I prefer Clarins.

They have products for discolorations (I’ve never tried them)

Their color story:
Their colors are quite interesting. I have some lipstick and a couple of lip pencils. I also use their Eyebrow pencil.

Do you use La Prairie? What is your favorite product?
