For so long, I've forgotten about the poetry in me. I wish I had my old poems, written with teen eyes; my mother threw them away in a fit of rage--they disconcerted her. I think those poems raged against loss, sheathed in rage. Parents--keep everything your child writes and draws for later, when they can piece together the roadmap of their journey.
