Harry Potter revisited

Three of us went to HP this morning, including College Girl who went for the second time.

Come to find out CG has been replying to my blog and for some unknown reason her comments have been designated spam. Hopefully that is resolved, but when I look through, say, 200 comments and they are all spam, I just delete all 1500 of them. Seriously. The spam catcher has caught over 12,000 comments, of which CG’s have been some.

I apologize if any of your comments got lost in spam also.

I agree with CG, that this is my favorite of the movies. I’m not sure why they gave it only 2 1/2 stars. I thought it was worthy of more. It wasn’t as scary or gruesome as I thought it might have been. I loved revisiting everyone. They changed at least one aspect of the book…two that I can think of…I’m sorry I missed opening night because I would have enjoyed it for more days.

I loved the casting, both of Beatrix Lestrange and also Dolores Umbridge who is the villain you love to hate. She is delightfully despicable, and when she says, ‘I hate children,’ you know, of course, she does, but only in the most ladylike way. I liked Tonks…seeing Sirius again…and the kids growing up…and who can forget Luna Lovegood!

Now, do you have predictions for the coming book? And do you read the end first?

We are all set for costumes and the house will be filled with College Kids spending the night, reading the book. I, of course, will read the ending first, but I am sworn to secrecy.

karin, what a relief it is to know that someone else reads the endings first. My character and integrity have been much maligned by close friends and loved ones for doing that!

Oh, Wanda, why waste a lot of time on a book if you don’t like the ending — plus then you can look for clues to see how well developed the book is. OTOH, some endings you have to keep going back a little farther and a little farther before it is understandable.

Honestly, if that is the only thing you can be maligned for, tell them you are in VERY good shape! LOL.

Years ago, I always finished a book if I started it. Now, for years, I’ve given myself permission to just take it back to the library. But it’s such fun to find an author who has written several books so I can read through them all.
