This look is from yesterday, Thursday. I haven't done my look for today yet. This was a quick summer look, using the NYX lippie that Miranda had reminded me of, when she commented the other day on a look she particularly liked.

Eyes: all Aromaleigh, unless noted
AL makes some gorgeous mattes. I just don't wear matte much any more.
Base: Nude Frost, then BE Queen Phyllis for some sheen
Lids and into crease: Dune
Crease and outer corners: Heron -- this surprised me, I thought it would be gray, but it is slate blue -- so I wrote on the label 'blue' so I wouldn't forget! I like it probably better than gray.
Drylined top and bottom: Lagoon -- one of my absolute faves
Trish: sparkly (using my finger to dab, pick up some, then dab on top) -- can't be completely matte!
Concealer: YSL + Arbonne
Mascara: Arbonne 2 in 1
Brows: La Prairie pencil

Primer: Arbonne
Foundation: Arbonne
Rouge under my sparkly mix: Chanel stick
Blush over my sparkly mix Arbonne promise, also used lightly as all over highlight
Guerlain meteorites powder used as bronzer

Lips: NYX Love Angel
This really is a pretty color!

Update on my skin
I am enjoying the Arbonne and love the luminosity of my skin. I see improvements around my eyes -- and I would like even more...I like using the night products. My face looks luminous in the morning and feels perfect, still moist, but not greasy like some night products. I'm a happy camper!

Book girl has had a couple of Arbonne parties and is enjoying showing the products. She is very happy with the improvements in her skin. Others are telling her how much they like what they purchased! Be sure to contact her if you don't have an Arbonne consultant. You can reach her by contacting me here.

Thanks for looking!

I often sweep a touch of sparkle over my matte shadows too. I have this MAC sparkle powder that’s great for it. I put a bit up high on my cheekbones as well. When I’m going out clubbing, I put it on my decolletage. ahaha I am naughty.

I have an idea. Have you ever tried a bronze-y color in your crease? I think that colors with some warmth in them would really compliment your skin.

Today I’m gonna wear…Revlon Colorstay blush in Petal, MK Shell lipstick, MK shadows Honey Spice and Sienna, and in the deep crease, L’Oreal shadow…the darkest brown of the Canyon Stone quad. For liner, my Coastal Scents black cream liner. soft black eye pencil by cover girl. And my MK Ultimate Mascara. I *love* that mascara, have you tried it?

I don’t find some mattes flattering. Instead of camouflaging tiny lines, they emphasize it. I think a bit of sparkle creates the optical illusion of no lines because light reflects off.

Yes, I’ve tried some bronzey colors in my crease. Depending on the depth, I can just look like my mascara has drifted, ie. it looks dirty.

I like MK Shell, it’s a really pretty color. I was going to wear it the other day and chose another color because I got sidetracked. I like MK Ultimate mascara too. I’ve not sure I like it any better (or worse) than any other mascara that does well.

I recently read about using two coats of mascara, one each of two types of mascaras — one for length and one for fullness. That makes sense to me, and I’m going to try it on one eye to compare to the other. Generally two coats of any one mascara makes me feel like Tammy Faye. I want to look like I have mascara on, but I don’t want to look like a clown. If I were really ambitious, I’d go back to wearing false eyelashes. I used to wear them all the time, but got out of the habit. It’s really quite easy and fast. I’ve just, as I said, got out of the habit — or I’m lazy — or both.

These colors sound pretty on you. Send me pictures and I’ll post your fotds!

I love Heron, too. In fact, I’m getting really attracted to the Carolina Summer mattes … particularly Dolphin (figures, right?) … often with a touch of sparkle since I love some sparkle, too .

Hey, Dolphins! Of course, Lynn…

I usually put a tiny bit of sparkle with the mattes, just because I like the sparkles.
