Seriously, if I had known how much I like this, I would have got one a long time ago.

I went around looking for a while, but none of the salespeople had one of their own, so they were talking to me cold.

What did I want, an IPod or something else? There are lots of accessories for the Ipod, and it’s probably a status symbol…but technologically, was it best or not?

I dunno. I just decided to leap in with one and see what I thought. I could always upgrade and things will change. Lucky for me Santa knew what I wanted. I got a MP3 PLAYER 5GB-RCA. And Santa included a iHome iH5 Clock Radio for iPod White and Philips HN 110 Folding Noise Canceling Headphones.

I’ve spent the last few days entering songs, some of which are mixes of albums made for me by a friend, so I have to enter the artist and album, etc. The albums I can just rip that have it all included are very easy.

My daughter got one too, and she ripped her songs into mine, including a lot of what she labeled club hop.

Anyhoo, I’ve filled it up completely, over 1200 songs, and still have a ton to rip. . I’m going to go thru CDs I haven’t listened to in years and rip the songs I love from them. And I’ll remove some of the songs my daughter gave to me.

I also ripped in all the Christmas music I never heard this year…and I can take that out (soon)…I labeled what I had ripped and what I hadn’t to make it easier for next year.
Of course, it’s the domino effect: buy one new thing and there are about 6 things you need to go with it.

The clock radio was designed perfectly. It had little cups to fill in the space where an IPod would fit perfectly and included a small connector cord for those MP3s that aren’t IPods. It has more than adequate sound for my daughter. I wanted something with better sound to play my jazz on.
I didn’t realize there was a Bose factory store (several) close to me. The ones in Orlando would be further away and more traffic…but the one in Vero was perfect. We could listen and decide.

I bought Bose® in-ear headphones and also the Bose Wave Music System – Graphite Gray. We thought the Wave had better sound than the one Bose designed for IPods (which is not usable for any MP3 as there isn’t an auxilary spot.) So even if I had got an IPod, I’d have to use a cord to connect it.
I’m thinking about getting some other things (Bose Companion 5 multimedia speaker system — Graphite/Silver for my computer.) I didn’t compare my noise reducing headphones to the Bose. I used mine on the boat today and they worked fine.

I also bought a cord to use it in the car to play through the car speakers. And a case to wear it on my belt or throw in a bag.

Very kewl.

Can you say $$.  No new perfumes for me for a while.

But I am so much enjoying the portability of music…
