EOTD: Mastering the smokey eye with Cat Marnell

Cat Marnel, a beauty editor at Lucky Magazine, shows us how to do a messy, smokey eye. And she does it in under 2 minutes. I love the idea of it being messy, so long as the mess is controlled where you want it. I love her idea of using bronzer to soften the crease. If you are very light complected, you might want to use more of a metallic bronze so there is some extra softening.

You can, of course, soften this look to be your own. Sometimes it can look as smokey, while being far less intense, depending on your skin tone or eye color.

And don't forget you could do a smokey eye in violets or blues or.... not just blacks and charcoals.

How much fun would we have doing eye makeup if we took this messy approach, whether smokey or not!

Enjoy!
