I know a couple who never want to do anything spur of the moment. I think they think it is rude to ask them at the last minute, as if we'd gone through our list and no one else could come, so we finally got to them.
On the contrary, we have always loved to do things spur of the moment, so it is natural for us to do so. We think nothing of it.
Of course, we plan also, but not always.
I think if we need to plan everything, we might miss out on some good things that fall into our lap.
Last night was such an occasion for me. At the last minute I was invited to see a musical theater production. If I had had to plan it, I would have had to say no. And I could only say the equivalent of maybe until I thought it over for a few minutes because of having a house guest and all else that is going on.
So there it was: the perfect gift to the end of a busy week. Just what I needed, though there were many times when I had to bring my thoughts back to the musical instead of where they were heading. A perfect gift to the end of a busy week.

I love doing spontaneous things! Planning is fun if you are looking forward to a vacation – but – on a daily basis…….BE SPONTANEOUS – PLEASE!!!! Spur of the moment is more adventurous – be alive!!!!
I think that is one reason why I don’t over schedule myself, although I’m sure there are others who would disagree that I’m not over scheduled. There has to be space in which spontaneity can occur.
