I really enjoy going to Curves, been going now for about 2 years, though I didn't go for about 2-3 weeks over the holidays. Life was just too too for me to relax enough to enjoy it. Then, I wonder if I'll ever start it back up again.
But I'm back going again, and it feels good to dance to the music on the recovery stations...and just generally get moving on a regular basis. It's too hot here for me to walk outside most of the year.
What I like about Curves, is that I have definitions in my arms for the first time ever, and just generally feel more toned all over. Aerobics never did that for me, though I liked the movement.
I wish they had a ballet bar for stretching, though. Even when I took ballet as a kid, I wished we had a bar at home. I ought to figure out how to get one, maybe out of PVC pipe and portable.
I'm about 5 mins away from the nearest Curves, so it is very easy, and a 1/2 hour is not very much time. I was thinking earlier of skipping it this morning and either doing it later or not at all, but I think I'm gonna go do it. I'll feel better!
Update: I no longer go to Curves because there were so many changes in local management and ownership and placement and treatment. I found I was hardly going, and it was no longer a fun place. Instead, I joined a gym with a walking/jogging track, and possibly 3 times a week I walk at night with my husband. The rest of the days I walk early in the morning. It is something different, and I am engaged again and having more-or-less fun when there. I've tried the machines at the gym, and they are not as easy to use as at Curves, plus I don't have the time or inclination at the moment. A friend has been using them for a couple of years (she stopped Curves before I did) and has mega-definition in her arms.
