Review Comparing mascaras, Stiletto and Lancome

Today I wanted to see how Maybelline's Stiletto mascara compared to Lancome's Oscillation mascara. I wore black in each. In general, I like Lancome mascaras, all their various renditions. They do not bother the skin around my eyes. This is not the first day I've worn either of them.

Oscillation mascara smells very similar to their Tendre mascara from years ago, which had some honey in it. It was made especially for sensitive eyes. I liked Oscillation right away because of the scent.

I applied LO to my right eye and MS to my left eye, upper lashes only. I used the same technique for each: using the end of the wand to dab on mascara, then used the full wand to move it through my lashes. I only need one coat.

Both looked the same; both wore the same. Neither flaked or smudged. On the initial application, MS felt a little lighter, perhaps it is cooler (wetter) but both have the identical feel as the day progresses.

Stiletto is addictive because of the wand packaging. I love the shape, and the red tip is enticing, seriously! It does remind you of the shoes that show a flash of red.

Oscillation is addictive because of the sensation of the oscillation. I was initially afraid that I might poke my eye, but it's like getting an eyelash massage with fairy fingers. I'm sure I will replace this when the battery goes before the mascara does, but I will use up the mascara that is left in the wand too. I wish you could buy just the battery.

You can't go wrong with either of them. Oscillation (.28 oz) is about twice the price of Stiletto (.22 oz.) If you like more than one mascara in your arsenal, go for both. Lancome is always a good buy if there is a gwp. Belks is running their gwp right now, if you have a Belks.

Update:
Lancôme's Ôscillation Vibrating Powermascara received a 2009 Cosmetic Executive Women (CEW) Beauty Insider’s Choice Award in the Prestige Makeup Eye Product category. The CEW Beauty Insider’s Choice Awards are held each year and winners are determined by members who vote on the industry’s top products that have been deemed the most innovative in their cosmetic category.
