You can find L’etre Aime - Femme (“the beloved woman”) at Lucky Scent $125 for 50 ml or $3 for .7 ml.

Notes: neroli, bergamot, nectarine, jasmine, lily, tincture of rose, everlasting flowers, labdanum, sandalwood, vetiver and vanilla

What do I think?
This is a luscious fragrance, heavy with nectarine.

My 12 yo immediately said how good I smelled. I do!

What's it like?
I don't own anything similar, which is why this is tempting to me. I suppose if you could cross one of my sweet orange fragrances with nectarine, you might come up with something like this.

It is fairly sweet, but not overwhelming. It isn't like Pink Sugar.

I think the flowers, vanilla, sandalwood and vetiver enhance the depth of it and keep it from being overly fruity.

Some who have tried the men's version of this prefer it to the feminine. I've not tried the men's, so I can't say.

What about the dry down?
As the fragrance dries down, it becomes a little less sweet, and the nectarine takes a back seat to the other notes. The nectarine is still there, underneath it all, though.

My take
I think I could own this one. It would have definite times when it would call to me.

I am sampling this in October, though the weather is still warm and mild where I am. We've see-sawed from the hottest weather on record to the coldest, and now it is just mildly warm. The longer this fragrance is on, the more it feels like a scent made for fall. I color it the color of changing trees, red and orange, but muted, not sharp or bright. Like a bright spot in a dull weather day, when the sky is overcast, but the leaves stand out in relief.

If you could make one of those fruit alcohol drinks you mix and keep on your counter, this reminds me of the smell of that. Blended fruit, but for grownups.

How about you? What do you think?
Have you tried the men's and/or woman's version of this fragrance? Do you wear any Divine fragrance(s)?

I have sampled this fragrance before, but it bears re-visiting and thinking of it again.

L ' I N F A N T E is a bouquet of white flowers, freshly gathered: Ylang ylang, chinese jasmine, pivoine, blackcurrant leaves and ivy. As a final hint of sensuality: ambergris and vanilla, musk and Tonka.

White flowers
Generally speaking, white flowers and I do not mix well. Most times, they are not wearable on me.

If, however, white flowers are your favorites, this is definitely one for you to try.

What does this smell like?
These flowers smell genuine. They do smell freshly gathered.

Perhaps what I dislike about many white florals is that they have a synthetic smell to me, and probably they are synthetic.

L'Infante may also be made from various chemical scents, but it smells real.

What does it remind me of?
It reminds me of the garden in my childhood home, where peonies grew in profusion. I get more peony in this than I do ivy, though others have mentioned ivy as predominant on them. As I wear it, the green get more dominant.

What fragrance does it remind me of?
In some ways it reminds me of Pivoine by Yves Rocher. If you are looking for something similar, but not at the same price point, more's the pity, try this. Of the two, I prefer L'Infante for its richness. Pivoine is both lighter and sharper.

Have you tried any of the Divine fragrances?
Which one is your favorite?
I received this early on, but when I received 3 Divine samples in a large haul recently from a generous POLer, it spurred me to re-try this one.

My first love is L'Inspiratrice. Second in order of my likes, but so close as to be identical is L'ame soeur (the soul mate.)

L'Ame soeur, the most beautiful of encounters, epitomises a harmony beyond time, an eternal marriage of noble flowers and aldehydes.

Essence of jasmin, otto bulgar rose and ylang from the Comoro Islands combine with ambergris to celebrate the natural elegance and innate sensuality of L'Ame soeur.

What does it remind me of?

It reminds me of Chanel # 5.

At first whiff, I recognized a familiarity, but it was enough different that it took me a few minutes to catch it.

How does it compare to Chanel # 5?
#5 is brash in comparison to L'Ame soeur which is gentle and harmonious.
#5 is brighter, even in the elixir.

If you like Chanel # 5, you likely would like L'Ame soeur, or if you wish you could wear Chanel #5, you would likely enjoy wearing L'Ame soeur. They are sister fragrances, not identical, but close.

Which do I prefer?

I prefer L'Ame soeur to #5. L'Ame soeurstarts and ends on me with a beauty I don't find in # 5 on me.

My take
I quite like it. While I like Chanel #5, I never reach for it. It is too aldehydic and bright, even brassy on me. It never softens. I like that this is similar to #5, but much kinder and softer.

Do you wear this fragrance?
Do you wear any Divine fragrance? Do you prefer this to Chanel # 5 or vice versa -- or have you never tried it?

Divine by Divine is the favorite Divine fragrance of a lot of people. It was the last of the women's fragrances I tried.

It bears trying more than once.

What did I think?
My first thought was that this was not for me. But wearing it at the moment I first wrote this review, I was changing my mind.

The notes

D I V I N E opens with a fruity note peach lightly spiced with coriander passing through a cloud of full and tender flowers gardenia, tubereuse des Indes, May rose finally to reveal a warm and sensual chord of oak moss, musk, vanilla and spice.

The spice combos
There are some interesting spice combinations in it.

What is the Peach like?
But this does not smell like the spiced peaches my mother used to serve at holidays. The peach is very fleeting. It is not like Femme.

What about the flowers?
The white flowers are the heart of it, but the tuberose is toned down.

Is it gourmand?
The vanilla is barely there. It is not gourmand, unless there is a food that would correspond to it in a rustic kitchen with bouquets of flowers.

My take
Quite yummy, actually. I don't wear Femme well, but I do love peach in a fragrance. Dawn Spencer Hurwitz has several peaches, or did, as I have samples of them. The Body Shop also.

How about you?
Do you wear this one?

L'homme de coeur is an original blend based on the iris.

It opens onto a universe of aromas and freshness - angelica, juniper berries, and cypress. It glows and shimmers thanks to the iris which is both its soul and spirit. It blossoms finally into a world of woodiness and amber - vetiver, ambergris, deer tongue.

You have to know I like Iris. The only form of iris I don't care for is Serge Lutens IRIS SILVER MIST which I find too dry and masculine for me to wear, though I will certainly give it another try, as I love so many of his other fragrances. L'homme de coeur, by contrast, has a sweetness to it. Iris is predominant. Cypress is not. It must be the woods and amber that give it that sweetness. And what on earth is deer tongue? Likely Elena from PerfumeShrine knows!

L'homme sage (the wise man) is a balance of notes ...At the top, saffron and mandarin, cardamom and lychee. At the heart, balm and aromatic woods, lightened with everlasting flowers and patchouli. The low notes, a timeless oak moss, amber and incense.

This is quite gourmand, but not like mostly feminine gourmands which are so sweet they grate on you. No, this one is sophisticated. I smell the lychee and cardamon. I ate lychees by the pound in China. Succulent, sweet, white, nestled in the skin that pops right off. Then gifted with another pound or so on the plane ride home, having to eat them all or throw them out (a crime!) so I ate and ate...and so did my new daughter. Lots of happy memories here. I love all the low notes.

Definitely a good choice!

l'etre-aime-men's
I've not tried this one, but I needed to mention that it existed. You can see the review of the women's here.

Notes: bergamot, lavender, ginger, basil, cardamom, everlasting flower, cistus, sandalwood, vetiver, patchouli

So, take your pick...make a choice based on notes you know you like, or jump off the deep end into something new.

Have you tried either of these? which is your favorite?

D I V I N E perfumes are now sold in London, Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, New-York, Los Angeles and Vancouver.

I received another sample of this from a generous POLer, so it spurred me to re-try all the Divine fragrances.

L ' i n s p i r a t r i c e (the inspirer)
Notes: patchouli and the rose; ylang from the Comoros and bergamot from Calabria, peony and white musk, vetiver blended with vanilla and tonka bean.

What about the notes?
As you know, if you've been reading my blog, I like patchouli, and I have to be very careful with rose and musk. I love vetiver, bergamot, vanilla, and tonka bean. So, this fragrance seemed a good bet for me, if I could wear the rose.

How to describe this
...it is not like other patchouli and rose fragrances you might have tried.

What is the rose like?
It is not a dirty rose as some rose and patchouli fragrances are.

No, this is the rose in the midst of the garden with dew on its petals. But the addition of the other notes brings a sort of gourmand touch, without it being sweet. It is interesting and spell binding. It starts out with a bit of a punch, then quickly settles down to lovely time out of time moments.

Indeed, the house asks:

Will L ' i n s p i r a t r i c e cast a spell on you too ?

Yes it did. Tres cordialement. I even like the red bottle.

How about you?
Do you wear this one? or any other Divine fragrance? Do you have a fave?

Four were for women; two for men.

I was charmed by this quote:

Creating a perfume is a noble art, comparable to music, painting and literature. An essence of life you share with others.

A great perfume is a masterpiece, stimulating meetings, exchanges and emotions. Expressing flights of fancy, ardent impulses and love, D I V I N E gives to each woman her allure and joy.

Have you ever thought of creating a perfume as being a noble art, comparable to other arts?
Or have you thought of perfumes more as a luxury or as an afterthought, something less noble than art? something expendable? or is it for you, a necessity? something that makes your day go better? that enhances your moments?

There is an art to creating a perfume. Different noses have a sort of signature that runs through their fragrances and particular fragrance houses have their own notes, such as Guerlinade that works its way through the Guerlain fragrances, especially the older ones.

I was charmed with the scents wafting from the package. Nothing leaked, so it is possible that the insert was spritzed. Then I was charmed by the note:

Chere Madame...I hope Divine fragrances will charm you and that one of them will suit you...

By that time I was ready to be charmed. I certainly hoped one of the fragrances would suit me! I would have been disappointed if I had not been drawn, especially since the package itself, well, smelled Divine!

So, take your pick of any Divine fragrance...make a choice based on notes you know you like, or jump off the deep end into something new. Either way, you have had an encounter with a true art form. These perfumes are blended to perfection, smooth and delectable. Enjoy!

Have you tried them? which is your favorite?

D I V I N E perfumes are now sold in London, Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, New-York, Los Angeles and Vancouver. At a California outing about the time I first received my sample vials, it was noted that several of the women were wearing L'inspiratrice. At that time, I hadn't heard of it.

As I revisit the scents, I will add my reviews. The links will work as soon as the review posts.
