March 8th, 2010 — Lip Gloss, Sales Alert, Ulta, Urban Decay
To add a little fun to your life, check out Urban Decay’s Pocket Rocket Lip Gloss ($19.)

Each gloss color (there are
has a different man on the cap. And — so silly — when you tilt the tube, the man is stripped to his underwear — front on one side, rear on the other. It’s a conversation stopper!
It will be hard to choose from David, Julio, Eric, Jesse, James, Kirk, Timothy, or Doug.
This formula is so slick and cushiony, you would love it even in a plain ol’ tube. Ulta

Yes.
Lip plumping, high-shine and moisturizing
Yes.
Additionally Ulta is giving away 2 free 24/7 Glide-on pencils ($18 value) with any $20 UD purchase — and on top of that $3.50 off (valid until 3-13-10) of any $10 purchase with the code 40162.
I like UD pencils. Now I just wish I could see the colors of the Rocket Lip Gloss in person.

March 1st, 2010 — Bare Escentuals, Cosmetics, Dior, DuWop, Eye liner, FOTD, Lancome, Lip Gloss, MAC, Mary Kay, Mascara, Merle Norman, Mineral, NYX, Revlon, Rouge or blush, Ulta
NYX Glitter Pallet is available in a number of colors online from Cherry Culture or in store at Ulta. This is from the Paradise pallet.
I got my hair cut today, and it surely needed it! Everywhere I went, someone mentioned how well they liked my eye makeup. The pink glitter is very becoming.

Eyes:
Base: Dior pink toned cream shadow
Crease: NYX Glitter Pallet Pink — bright bubble gum color with multi light pastel glitter
Outer Corner: NYX GP Dark Black with Multi Glitter
Lined top in waterline: Mary Kay black eye pencil
Lined bottom in waterline with MAC graphblack, just outside with earthline
Drylined bottom outside MAC: Ulta Jade mineral powder looks green, pulls gold from the glitter
Mascara:
Top: Lancome Cils primer, Oscillation over it;
Bottom: Definicils
Blush: MAC Dollymix
Brows: Merle Norman powder
Highlight: my own shimmer powder mix, no time for anything else, topped with a bit on BE on my nose
Lips:
Revlon Wine with everything cream gloss
This is a very pretty color. I thought I might want to add silver glitter, but it has a gleam all its own. This is the formula I liked so well.
Again, I used DuWop Reverse Liner just to make sure it wouldn’t migrate, but I don’t know that I needed to. It’s still going strong a couple of hours later.

Verdict:
I raced through trying this product for the first time in order to be on time for my hair cut. You can see how it went on uneven. The pallet has great colors and I will definitely try it again. It comes with 1 applicator with sponges on each end and 1 applicator that has a sponge on one end and a brush on the other. I don’t see how you could use the brush. The product is suspended in a heavy gel. It’s not particularly waxy, but it means the glitter stays put.
I used my finger to apply it because nothing else worked.
One reviewer talked about using this as liner and having to go over it several times to get it even, but that it lasted all night. I have other glitter liners that are a lot easier to use. I don’t know that I would try this as liner. Maybe! She talked about using it on her face, arms, decolletage, etc.

I need to play with it some more, but meantime I look good enough to race around town anyway!
What do you think?

2009 was a good year. Any time one’s health is good, and that of one’s family and friends, it is a good year. Then throw in a few good times, a lotta good perfumes, some good books and movies, and it becomes a very good year indeed.
It’s always nice to put some thought into those things we love.
Best Perfumery Trends in 2009:
It has to be oud, which is everywhere, suddenly for us in the west, but always a presence in the east. I am not located in a place easy for access to many of these, so I’m personally limited in knowledge to the ones I’ve sampled.
Kilian Pure Oud
First, perfumes.
As for perfumes, remember I’m in the back of beyond as far as easily sniffing some of the lines, so if you have a favorite or are a favorite, if I have samples, I’ll be glad to add my voice.

March 21st, 2009 — Aromaleigh, Brows, Chanel, Cosmetics, Estee Lauder, Eye Shadow, Eye liner, FOTD, Foundation, L'Oreal, La Prairie, Lip Gloss, MAC, Mary Kay, Mascara, Milani, Mineral, Pencils, Primer, Rouge or blush, Shiseido, Ulta
I was really pleased with how this turned out.

Eyes:
Base: L’Oreal Sapphire Crystal cream, then beige sparkly mix
I tried to do it without the mix, but I could tell it was going to go on unevenly.
Crease: Ulta Lagoon
Outer corners: Ulta Marine – this a gorgeous, bright, sheeny color — Lagoon was not nearly as sheeny.
Lower Liner: MAC graphblack wetlined, then earthline below, then drylined with Maroon.
Upper Liner: earthline tightlined on outer corners.
Brows: La Prairie pencil
Mascara: Estee Lauder Magna Scopic Navy — I can wear this EL mascara in all the colors
Concealer: Mary Kay Facial Highlighting Pen Color #2
Lips: Milani Buzz Worthy Lip Gloss Bee Mine
Lined lips: Shiseido Lively Rose
My glimmer powder mix over Mary Kay cream rouge.
Primer: Aromaleigh
Foundation: Chanel
This foundation looks great in the bottle because the container changes the look of the foundation. Once out of the bottle, the foundation is more yellow. So far, I can’t find a match in Chanel to the old color I loved.
Topped with Guerlain Meterorites primer to change the color from being too yellow. The primer is made to go under foundation, but it works well on the top too.
I loved Maroon in the Ulta colors. By tonight, the colors had moved into the crease. I’ll have to try it again with a better mix of base.
It was a happy look.
What do you think? Have you tried Ulta mineral shadows?

NYX jumbo lip pencils $3.50 are a bargain for the price. They feel good; don’t migrate, but are not dry; they feel moisturizing.
You can get them online at Cherry Culture. or instore at Ulta, which is where I found these two pencils, but not online.
I think it would be hit or miss what you’d find instore at Ulta. There was very little stock at the store I went to, and what they did have was spotty in colors. Update: But when I went a second time a week or so later, their stock was replenished, but already some colors were gone.
Pink Nude 03.
While it looks clear in this photo, in actuality, it is very shimmery, almost white, like an updated look from the 70s. It works very well in combo with other colors that might be too dark.
And I think it would be a beautiful highlighter up the center of the face. It is just pink enough.

Soft Fuchsia 702
The color is very true to the photo. I like it!

Do you like these pencils? What colors do you have?
Karin
5 for price
5 for formula, perfect! moist, but doesn’t migrate
5 for lasting power
