The Woman Behind Savvy Thinker
Email: karin (at) savvythinker [dot] com
I'm glad you found me! My son encouraged me to start this site, and my College Girl helped choose the name.
Transracial International Adoption (TR IA)
My youngest two daughters were adopted from China. I've been active on adoption lists ever since. Additionally I have started many list servs, still own and moderate a few, and generally connect people gratis.
I believe we have a lot to learn from adult TR IA(doptees). To that end I started the list serv International-Adopt-Talk and its companion site, Discuss-IAT, for those who have not yet adopted.
If you have adopted internationally, are in the wait to adopt or are considering adoption, or if you were adopted internationally, these are lists you might be interested in.
Spirituality
Things of the Spirit are high on my list and never too far from mind.
Perfumes
I love perfumes. They are a part of me. I don't worry about how many I have, and I doubt I will use many of them up, but they add variety to the spice of life.
Makeup
Once upon a time in a galaxy far, far away, or so it seems, I taught professional makeup. It is a hobby and an avocation. I thought it would be fun to share some of the theories about makeup and share the products that I love because I know they work.
And if you can't have fun with makeup, when can you have fun!
My kids, grown and otherwise
I have great kids. So far, so good!
Knitting and crocheting
I began to knit at age 11. In the years since, I've knit or crocheted just about everything under the sun, done some personal designing, and I am beginning to share patterns here.
Beading
I enjoy working with beads when the muse hits. I haven't done much lately, but I have some waiting for me.
Reading
I love to read. At times the reading I do is online. Other times I'm into books. Most of my magazines have gone by the wayside, except the few that are meaningful to me. I have a couple of fiction books waiting for me and more than a couple of inspirational/non-fiction books.
I have a Kindle2 International Version, do you own an e-reader? I'd love to hear which one.
Quotes
I've collected quotes from childhood, and I like to share them here. It's a whole lot easier to collect them with a computer vs. scraps of paper or multiple notebooks. At the beginning of this blog, when I began writing here, I had a quote almost daily. Now, it's whenever the muse strikes.
Music
Music adds happiness to my days. Sometimes I share music.
How I organize my days
I don't need a whole lot of sleep, but when I do, I do.
Meanwhile, I usually find myself occupied with one extra thing at a time: either knitting, reading, beading, writing...something.
Adding happiness and joy to life
I make it a point to add some happiness and fun every day of my life.

I'm always looking for guest writers. So if you have an interesting post to submit, send it along for consideration. I will give proper attribution.
