I recently learned of a church built in Romania's Carpathian mountains, northwest of Bucharest.
It was constructed by volunteers out of ice and snow taken from a nearby lake. It took four weeks to construct at a cost of over 7,000 euros.
The idea is that people who come here to enjoy the mountain and the nature now have a place to pray and find peace. Arnold Klingeis
I've seen a photo of the inside. It is beautifully incandescent and looks like a cathedral made out of ice. It is no small cabin. It looks like there are approximately 50 people inside, maybe more outside the camera range, all in heavy garments. I can only assume that where it is, it will not melt during warmer seasons.
