There’s a table of different country level of happiness — and the number of positive events needed to offset a negative event. It seems the happier you are, the more it takes to get you back to happiness.

Very interesting article —
Tho I have been reading about cultivating equanimity (through mindfulness meditation) and I wonder if they (the researchers) have taken into account the idea of deliberately cultivating that sense of equanimity in the face of whatever life throws at you, both good and bad…

Good question. I think it would have to help, don’t you? Cultivating a sense of equanimity couldn’t hurt. And it would be a process, sometimes more perfect than others, yes?
