I love our palm trees, but they are the messiest things over the sidewalk when they get their berries. We were due to get them trimmed for a few weeks, but no one stopped by.
As I type they are being trimmed.
About two weeks ago our paper featured a story of unscrupulous trimmers who cut the canopy of regular trees too deeply and it was expected the trees would die. One tree they photographed looked horrid. This kind of dealing is right up there with other abuses in my book. To kill a tree without a reason or a use for the tree when trees are at a premium here anyway is beyond sad.
Shortly after that story appeared in our paper, I was driving in our area and noticed a tree with the most perfect canopy, trimmed by God. I wish I was more up on the names of trees. I don’t know what it was, but it was large. The bottom of the canopy was flat, but the top was a perfect half sphere. I looked for it again yesterday, but didn’t spot it. I will have to look again. Perhaps with more leaves, it doesn’t have the same shape. But when I saw it, it was like a gift from the universe.
