The gospel, with stadium seating

It isn’t the first time a church has held services inside a theater. We had one theater that went out of business that was bought by a church a couple of decades ago.

…we like coming to a place people are already coming to…Rev. Wright (who uses one theater for a traditional church service and another for the children’s ministry.)

And the chairs are comfortable.

Not to mention that it is good use of space. One of our Christian churches shared space with a Jewish congregation for a long time.

It sure saves having to build a facility.

Church attendance is down in most denominations, except for the mega-churches. Looking for innovative means to reach people is on the thoughts of many, especially in reaching the younger families who are missing in demographics.

Go where the people are or at least go to where the people are already comfortable going. Be meaningful in what you offer, outside of the seats.

What else? be dynamic? have charisma? Is that more important than the message?

Genuinely love?

Love is very important. As God commanded us to love one another, then faith, grace, stewardship, serving others will all follow.
Since we attend and are members of a very small church, I do wonder if the mega-churches can do a better job of equipping people to learn and teach God’s principles.

I wonder how a person doesn’t get lost in a mega church, or perhaps that is the point? They often subdivide into smaller study groups and follow a sort of home church fellowship.
