Yesterday was a day…laughing at my life

I had an interesting day yesterday. I started out coloring my hair. At the end I do a shampoo cap, where shampoo is mixed into the color for the last five minutes. I did that. Applied some…then took some more, hmmmm, it looked like straight shampoo, but I had mixed it…oh well…

It turned out OK, but I missed 3 clues: bottles are similar but not identical; caps are not similar at all; and hello! it was straight shampoo. When I noticed, I completed using the right bottle, but of course, it was super diluted.

A friend said to me:

Sounds like a day when you couldn’t take the hint.

That just struck me as funny, especially since my hair had turned out OK.

Later I ran an errand to get something. The thought came to call to see if they were open. (I didn’t call. Even when I thought to call from my cell phone. I got sidetracked, which isn’t unusual.) Well, they were open, but they didn’t have what I went for. (I ran another errand at the same time so it wasn’t a total lost cause.)

It struck me as funny again. Remember when I posted that God still speaks to us even if we don’t listen? I don’t know if I would have thought to ask them if they had what I was going for, even if I had called. But at least it was a broad hint that the errand wasn’t going to accomplish much. I was more aggravated at myself than the store.

Life is tough, and if you have the ability to laugh at it you have the ability to enjoy it. Salma Hayek

As I said, it really was a funny day, and I enjoyed it, oddly enough. I was glad I wasn’t hit over the head — that made me laugh too. And, of course, I was glad my hair turned out at least 1/2 way decent.
