Courage is the greatest of all the virtues. Because if you haven’t courage, you may not have an opportunity to use any of the others. Samuel Johnson (1709-1784)
I can sure relate to this one. It seems everyday is a new opportunity for getting past fears.
I never knew I had any fears until I had my first child. Then, it was like all these hidden fears came out of the closet. I was fearful on so many levels, but I tamped it down, and prayed my way through, to get on living.
If I didn’t work through my fears, I’d end up never leaving the house or getting on an airplane. But I still go.
It would be nice to be fearless, but likely also an impossibility, so it’s better to see this as a kind of courage, albeit not of the dramatic kind.
I have been known to go way out past my comfort zones. I still go, but with a lot of forethought and winged with prayer.
