One of my all time favorite quotes is:
In order to discover new lands, one must be willing to lose sight of the shore for a very long time. — Andre Gide (1869–1951) French Writer
It is such a truism, and I don’t know about you, but being that far out from land can be a difficult and scary place, not only physically but metaphorically — and even metaphysically.
I like to think that I have gone out past my comfort zone, at least on occasion, and I strive not to give into my fears, which seem to pop up more regularly as time moves on. But it ain’t easy.
There are many new lands to discover and if you are in process of discovery, that transition time can be very difficult on many levels, but your willingness to leave the sight of land will be proportional to your finding what you are looking for.
Go for it!
